We seek Asbestos Supervisors with proven work experience in asbestos / hazardous materials removal projects, to join our rapidly expanding Asbestos operations.

As an Asbestos Supervisor you will oversee the safe removal of asbestos and hazardous materials, while ensuring stringent Health and Safety compliance.

Work Type: Full Time

Location: Wellington and Auckland

Key Responsibilities:

  • To liaise closely with the project team in order to ensure compliance with client and McMahon Services’ processes
  • Safe and effective removal of asbestos products, both friable and non-friable, as detailed in the scope of work and asbestos surveys
  • Ensure project is meeting program and resource management plans
  • Preparation and completion of asbestos removal control plans, document control and QA documentation
  • Management, safety, environmental, quality systems implementation
  • Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team
  • Compliance with the HSW (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 and the Approved Code of Practice: Management and Removal of Asbestos

Qualification and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must possess the following:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the asbestos / hazardous materials removal industry
  • Must hold Class A, Class B and supervisor asbestos removal qualifications (NZQA standards)
  • Knowledge of removal techniques, including sprayed coating and asbestos insulation board
  • Strong safety focus and knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand project documentation such as drawings and asbestos surveys and turn these into site instructions for personnel
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Site based experience a clear advantage
  • Commercial and industrial experience (desirable)
