Demolition / Asbestos Project Managers

Due to significant growth, McMahon Services seek demolition and asbestos professionals to work throughout New Zealand. You will have proven experience of working in the demolition / asbestos industries, although candidates from construction, especially with civil and structural engineering background would be welcome.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will assist with tenders, plan and execute complex projects, produce technical documentation, assist with progress claims and client liaison.

Candidates would be required to travel throughout New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Australia when required.

The successful applicant will be used to leading from the front and set exemplary examples in terms of workmanship, health and safety and professionalism.

Remuneration: $100,000 – $149,000 p.a

Key Responsibilities:

  • To liaise closely with the Project Team in order to ensure compliance with Client and McMahon Services’ processes
  • Assist with tender submissions and quotations
  • Client relationship and management
  • Producing technical documents
  • Assisting with planning and resource allocation
  • Running multiple projects
  • Co-ordinating and ensuring all aspects of onsite Health and Safety systems and procedures are maintained to the highest level
  • Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 years + experience in the immediate field of one of or both demolition and asbestos industries
  • Relevant professional qualifications (structural/ civil engineering preferred for demolition project managers)
  • A tertiary qualification in Project Management, civil of structural engineering is desirable
  • Construction Industry experience preferred
  • The ability to work autonomously and work well under pressure
  • Ability to think on your feet, react and adapt to different situations
  • Excellent team player
  • Proficient use of computer and computer systems

Ability to work in New Zealand as a citizen or with PR or current VISA status. To be successful you must hold Class A or Class B Asbestos Removal Qualifications and construction industry White Card. The ability to work away will be required in this position.

Competitive remuneration offered depending on experience.
