Demolition Supervisors

Due to further expansion of our New Zealand division, we are seeking experienced Demolition Supervisors to join our Demolition and Asbestos teams.

The Demolition Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that demolition activities are undertaken in line with work specifications and in compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan onsite works to meet required timelines and outputs through prioritising activities against daily project schedule
  • Arrange necessary plant, labour and material resources for the works and capture information in a detailed site diary
  • Monitor work progress against program and notify the Project Manager of potential variations and extension of time claims and delays
  • Ensure that the project progresses in accordance with its contract, and complies with regulations and McMahon Services policies
  • Review project site reports, designs and drawings to ensure all project requirements are completed
  • Ensure tools, equipment and materials on site are stored appropriately and that necessary calibration and maintenance is undertaken in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with clients, project management and engineering teams to identify problems early and provide solutions to project issues
  • Monitor site costs ensuring efficient use of materials and time resources

Qualification and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must possess the following:

  • Minimum 3 years’ demolition experience, in both commercial and industrial projects
  • Experience driving heavy plant and machinery i.e., excavators up to 49 tonne, and RTW/Class 2/Class 4 licenses are advantageous
  • Asbestos Awareness Training. Any additional qualifications (NZQA Unit Standards) in the management of asbestos are advantageous
  • Strong safety focus and knowledge
  • Ability to read, and understand project documentation such as drawings and contract documents and turn these into site instructions for personnel
  • Knowledge of cut and crane, mechanical demolition, remote demolition and strip outs
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Must have a current full drivers’ license
  • Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice Conviction check
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft professional suite including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
