From Plan to Place
McMahon Services, along with the City of Onkaparinga and other key contractors, have taken home the Planning Institute of Australia (SA Division) 2012 From Plan to Place Award.
This industry award recognises the implementation of a plan into a successful place.
The Christies Beach to Port Noarlunga Foreshore Revitalisation project transformed the south coast foreshore into a vibrant and functional open community space balancing environmental objectives with recreation and economic development.
The project brought together four individual projects, two of which McMahon Services were proud to be part of.
The Christies Beach Upgrade involved civil road works, boardwalk construction and landscaping, along with the transformation of Rotary Park, including grass, construction of sheltered community facilities, new playground and landscaping.
Further down the coast, the Port Noarlunga Foreshore Redevelopment saw the Civil division transform the Coast Trail, Picnic Area and Foreshore Deck, complete with decking and fencing. Landscaping, lighting and street furniture then completed the civil works.
The Building Services division was instrumental on both projects, completing the timber works from bearers, joists, posts, handrails and decking.
The reinvigoration of the complex has boosted tourism and sparked excitement with a range of community groups and locals.
Well done to The City of Onkaparinga, Shannon Architects, Outerspace Landscape Architects, Taylor Cullity Lethlean, Badge Constructions and Outside Ideas.
