Site Managers (Demolition & Asbestos experience) & A-Class Asbestos Supervisors

Due to significant growth, McMahon Services seek demolition and asbestos professionals to work throughout New Zealand. You will have proven experience of working in the demolition/ asbestos industries and be able to travel to project sites.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will manage the day – to – day operation of McMahon Services projects, including tool box talks, sub-contractor management, ensure WHSEQ compliance and motivating and managing the work force.

The successful applicant will be used to leading from the front and set exemplary examples in terms of workmanship, health and safety and professionalism.

Remuneration: $85,000 – $119,000 p.a

Key Responsibilities:

  • To liaise closely with the Project Team in order to ensure compliance with Client and McMahon Services’ processes
  • Ensure project is meeting program and resource management
  • Preparation and completion of asbestos removal control plans, document control and QA documentation
  • Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team
  • Delegation to, and motivation of the work force
  • Documentation of site progress including SWMS and JSA’s
  • Mentoring and teaching site staff

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 years + experience in the immediate field of one of or both demolition and asbestos industries
  • Relevant professional qualifications (structural/ civil engineering preferred for demolition project managers)
  • Construction Industry experience preferred
  • ’A’’ Class ticket holder preferred (Asbestos Supervisor)
  • The ability to work autonomously and work well under pressure
  • Full NZ Driving license
  • Proficient use of Excel essential
  • The ability to work autonomously and work well under pressure

To be successful you must hold Class A or Class B Asbestos Removal Qualifications and construction industry White Card. The ability to work away will be required in this position.
